WEEKS
The feast of Weeks is celebrated fifty days after the Feast of Firstfruits and is the second harvest festival - the harvest of the summer. Therefore the holiday can also be called “Firstfruits.” Whereas the Israel did not have to labor to reap their first harvest in the Promised Land, they had to labor to reap this second harvest. Through this holiday we see our partnership with God. While we have to sow and reap, He is faithful to bring the harvest. There was a very unique wave offering at the Temple on this holiday - two loaves of bread. This was the only time that yeast was allowed in a Temple sacrifice. The significance of this is seen at the Feast of Weeks (aka Pentecost) in Jerusalem circa 32 AD.
