UNLEAVENED BREAD

The Feast of Unleavened Bread begins the day after Passover, on the 15th of the first month. The holiday commemorates Israel’s exodus (deliverance) from Egypt. The holiday lasts for seven days during which time no leaven was to be found in homes nor consumed by the people.
So you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this same day I will have brought your armies out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall observe this day throughout your generations as an everlasting ordinance. (Exodus 12:17)
Even today in Israel, great care is given to remove all leaven (yeast) from homes, restaurants and stores. The holiday is a visible reminder of our deliverance from the bondage of sin and our continual need to remove all leaven (sin) from our lives.
