PASSOVER

The fulcrum of the Hebrew bible, foreshadowingof the apex of the New Covenant…the redemption of the world through Jesus the Messiah

Lev23…..

Passover is an event. It is a holy day. It is a season. It is a celebration.

The themes and liturgy of Passover echo throughout all Scripture. From the Exodus come the words of the psalmists and are even on the lips of Mary, Simeon and Zacharius, father of John as quoted in the Gospel of Luke. Imagine the words we repeat every Christmas story are routed and grounded in the Passover.

Jesus was celebrating Passover with His disciples at their last supper together. And it was that ritual that Jesus adapted into Communion.
