The Provision of Redemption

On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor it according to the number of the persons; you shall make your count for the lamb.

For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground.

Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year.

And JESUS grew in wisdom, grace and stature before God and man. He went into all the cities of the Galilee healing the sick and preaching the Kingdom of God.

Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, “It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer’ but you have made it a den of thieves

Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant

He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.

He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were , our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

Now you shall keep the lamb until the fourteenth day of the same month.

When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

So they said, Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it

Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill the lamb at twilight.

Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities

And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover.

He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief.

‘For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.

And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there. And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter. "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."

And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.

What cup was Jesus referring to? He drank the Cup of God’s. that we might drink of the Cup of His Salvation and become the righteousness of God!

2 Corinthians 5: 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us,. so that in him we might become the righteousness of God

Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha and when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull, they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink. Then they crucified Him

Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two.

And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “It is finished! Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Having said this, He breathed His last. And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

Thus all the children of Israel did; as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did. And it came to pass, on that very same day, that the Lord brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt
